Nebraska Republican Party

Jessica Moenning has been named executive director for the Nebraska Republican Party, after running U.S. Rep. Jeff Fortenberry's successful campaign to represent Nebraska's First District.

In the post, she said she plans to build a statewide organization to capture many of the 20-plus open seats in the Nebraska state legislature, where term limits go into effect in 2006.

Moenning said her experience as Fortenberry's campaign manager prepared her for the new position.

"Running Congressman Fortenberry's campaign provided me with the unique opportunity to experience first-hand the importance of engaging new people into the political process and mobilizing an effective grassroots organization," she said.
